v0.39 - Last Update for the new Stage


Hello all,

right now I'm spending a lot of time integrating some new mechanics and level for the next level. Some improvements also affect the existing levels. For this reason, here is a last update for this year.

Improvements

  • Player ability: Brand - creates burning ground under the mouse cursor. The ability, percentage damage based on the life of the opponent in ticks for a short time. The cooldown is 100 enemy kills.
  • All sounds are now outsourced from the game and are no longer processed using Game Maker's internal functions. This should result in all sounds working on Linux as well.
  • Small improvements in the Twiggelpedia - better description of enemies added
  • If the height is not equal to the width of a map, then the creep target and spawn(1) will always align to the longest side
  • Splash Damage does less damage the further the target is from the center
  • Changed design of enemy spawns and waypoints
  • Revised visualization of slowed creeps
  • Towers now have a health system and can be destroyed by effects. (is more important for the new level)



Artifact System

  • The variety of artifacts has been increased - 7 new types have been added
  • new types are -Tower health, more EXP after building, Fog resistance, Crit, Slow, Splash, Venom
  • Damage/range and rate artifacts now have a percentage impact on base stats
  • Added explanations to abilities in the weapon factory
  • Found artifacts are no longer saved directly, but only when leaving the level. This prevents short memory lags


Fixes

  • Marking barricades is now also available in the English version
  • Weapon factory: display error for already attached items fixed
  • Hotkeys for the build buttons now work even if no tower is selected and no other builder is active
  • Performance optimization of ward buff mechanics
  • Map editor: creator settings - checkbox "editable by others" - fixed
  • intro scene: "joykey" bug - fixed
  • tower target info changed - G/A to ground and/or air
  • some small fixes
